Our Code of Ethics

Compassionate Ethics and Boundaries

We in The Lily and Beyond DBA One Brotherhood Chapter establish and maintain high standards in public service and safety, and require of ourselves the utmost in ethical conduct. Therefore, we collectively and individually affirm and abide by the following code of ethics and professional conduct as our custom, habit and way of life:

 

  1. We represent our qualifications honestly, including educational achievements and professional affiliations, and provide only those services which we are qualified to perform.

  2. We accurately inform those participating in our events of the scope and limitations of our discipline. Furthermore, we exert caution in forecasting the results of services offered.

  3. We consistently maintain and improve our professional knowledge and competency by striving for professional excellence via continuing education and training plus regular assessment of our personal and professional strengths and weaknesses.

  4. We conduct our business and professional activities with honesty, integrity and respect for the inherent worth of all persons.

  5. We practice with integrity, honesty, fairness and respect for others. We respect the rights of others to hold values, attitudes, and opinions that differ from our own.

  6. We respect the client’s right to participate with informed and voluntary consent.

  7. We provide an environment that ensures the safety and privacy of those attending our events.

  8. We acknowledge and safeguard the confidential nature of the professional relationship with clients and respect each client's right to privacy. There are safety limits to a client's right to privacy and confidentiality. These limitations are:

    • (8.1) When, under careful deliberation, it is decided that the client is in danger, or is a danger to himself, to society, or to other individuals. In such case, information may be shared only with the appropriate authorities, professionals, legal guardians or other responsible party. The client is made aware of this when possible and if reasonable. 

    • (8.2) When other professionals, facility or agency are directly related with the case or situation.

    • (8.3) When the client consents to the releasing of confidential information. 

    • (8.4) When compelled by a court order, subpoena or other legal administrative order.

Ethics is obedience to the unenforceable.

We commit to a safe environment where our values and mission thrive, where raising difficult allegations and ethical compliance issues will receive a peaceful response. If you feel a member of our organization, or colleague such as a vendor, client, constituent, partner organization or any third party has fallen short of ethical conduct, please do not hesitate to voice your concerns to us. Your report will be given the respect and confidentiality it deserves.

Do not assume that someone else is going to raise the concern. If you do not speak up, your silence protects the perpetrator, not you or the public. Speak up through our online reporting tool, the "Ethical Whistle Blower." It allows you to report with anonymity or use an alias.
